Common questions
Do people need an account to respond? +
No. Anyone with the link types their name and fills in the grid. Their browser quietly remembers a key so they can come back and edit their own answer later, and that key never identifies them to anyone else.
How does it handle time zones? +
Properly. You author the event in your own zone; every slot is stored as an absolute moment in time, then re-rendered in each visitor's local zone. Someone in Berlin answering a Chicago event sees Berlin times, and daylight saving transitions inside your date range are handled rather than fudged.
Can other people find my event? +
Only if they have the link. Event addresses are derived from a salted hash rather than counting up from one, so nobody can walk the site reading strangers' plans, and event pages are excluded from search engines.
What does it cost? +
Nothing. Timepool is free and supported by advertising on the pages around the polls.
How long do events stick around? +
Sixty days after the last date in the poll, then the event and every response in it are deleted automatically. There are no accounts, so nothing can be left lying around attached to you.
